Nano Banana Pro + Kling 3.0 - why my golden eagle walks instead of flies
A golden eagle walks a burgundy cap over to a man in a real olive lambswool jumper
In today's "animal frames" series I did a test spot styled on Lyle & Scott's look. A guy in an olive jumper and rust trousers stands in a white studio, and a golden eagle walks in on foot with a burgundy flat cap in its beak. Lyle & Scott isn't a client, this was just a test. My first version had the eagle fly in, and it came out bad, so this post is about why I put it on the ground.
Here's my exact process.
1. Set up the studio
A prompt-only white room with the window on the left. A second pass makes the floor white.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken inside a minimalist white studio from the start — not a composite. Shoot the whole space natively, with a single unified natural light source across every surface. THE VIBE: Austere, hushed, expensive emptiness — the pared-back quiet-luxury minimalism of a high-fashion campaign set before anything is placed in it. The room feels intellectual and cool, precise but not sterile, where the quality of light and the fall of a shadow are the only events. Stillness and generous negative space. THE SETTING: A clean, modern white studio — a seamless matte-white cyclorama sweep curving gently from floor to wall with no visible seam, its surface carrying the faintest real texture and tonal variation so it reads as painted plaster, not a flat digital void. A polished pale microcement floor with a soft satin sheen, subtle and almost imperceptible reflections. One tall floor-to-ceiling window just out of frame to the left. Architectural, uncluttered, refined proportions. THE LIGHT: Soft directional daylight raking in low from the left through the unseen window, casting long, clean, elongated geometric shadows across the white sweep and floor — the crisp diagonal of a window frame and mullions stretched across the wall. Gentle falloff from bright highlight to soft grey shadow, smooth gradients, no harsh clipping. Cool-neutral white balance with the faintest warmth where the sun lands. THE KEY DETAILS: The natural window-cast shadows are the subject — long, soft-edged diagonal bars and a rectangle of light on the floor. Delicate dust motes suspended in the light shaft. Subtle tonal gradation across the seamless wall. THE MOOD: Editorial, muted, cold-clinical calm with a breath of warmth. Restrained luxury. A clean neutral grade, whites held just off pure white, soft grey shadows, nothing oversaturated. THE COMPOSITION: Wide architectural frame, eye level, straight-on and balanced. Vast negative space with the shadows placed on a rule-of-thirds diagonal as the leading lines; low emphasis, open airy upper frame. THE CAMERA: Cinematic editorial architectural still — wide framing, eye-level straight position, deep focus with everything sharp edge to edge, lit exclusively by the single window daylight source with no studio strobes and no artificial separation, a clean cool-neutral naturalistic grade in the vein of Roger Deakins' understated natural light. Light falls off gently toward the frame edges. Hyperreal, tactile, every surface present.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image, but the floor is now white. Preserve everything else from the reference exactly — the seamless matte-white cyclorama wall, the soft low directional daylight from the left, the long clean geometric window-cast shadows, the composition, framing, grade and mood all stay identical. THE FLOOR (CHANGED): The floor is now a clean matte white, continuous with the seamless white cyclorama sweep so wall and floor read as one unbroken white surface, no visible seam. A soft satin sheen with subtle, almost imperceptible reflections, the faintest real texture and tonal variation so it reads as painted plaster rather than a flat digital void — never pure clipped white. THE SETTING (LOCKED): The minimalist white studio, the seamless curving cyclorama, the tall floor-to-ceiling window just out of frame to the left. Do NOT redesign the environment. THE LIGHT (LOCKED): Soft directional daylight raking in low from the left, casting long, clean, elongated geometric window-frame and mullion shadows across the white sweep and now the white floor, with gentle falloff to soft grey and smooth gradients. Cool-neutral white balance with the faintest warmth where the sun lands. Delicate dust motes in the light shaft. THE MOOD (LOCKED): Editorial, muted, cold-clinical calm with a breath of warmth, restrained luxury, clean neutral grade, whites held just off pure white. THE COMPOSITION (LOCKED): Wide architectural frame, eye level, straight-on, vast negative space, the shadows on a rule-of-thirds diagonal as leading lines, open airy upper frame. THE CAMERA (LOCKED): Cinematic editorial architectural still, deep focus everything sharp edge to edge, lit exclusively by the single window daylight source, clean cool-neutral naturalistic grade, gentle edge falloff. Hyperreal and tactile.
2. Get the real jumper
This was the first spot in the series where I dressed the model in a real product. I used an actual Lyle & Scott product photo of their olive lambswool crew-neck with the small gold eagle on the chest. That Golden Eagle is their emblem, est. 1874, so the bird picked itself. I paired the jumper with rust-orange trousers (#C65A20) for some pop.
3. Dress him
Two references: the empty studio for the room, and the jumper photo. One tip: tell the model the jumper photo is for the jumper only. Mine had a background, a model's face and black trousers in it, and I didn't want any of that coming along. The trousers and tan suede loafers are text.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in the white studio from the FIRST reference from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: A bright, heritage-preppy campaign moment — Scottish knitwear cool brought current, clean white space, rich color carrying the frame. IDENTITY LOCK: A man in his late 20s, athletic build, warm medium skin tone, short neat dark hair, clean-shaven. THE SUBJECT: He stands in the LEFT THIRD of the room in a relaxed, confident stance — weight on one leg, one hand loosely in his trouser pocket, the other at his side, shoulders turned slightly toward the open room, chin level, an easy half-smile, gaze sent slightly off-camera. Dress him in the exact garment from the SECOND reference: the olive-green marled lambswool crew-neck jumper with the small gold Golden Eagle emblem embroidered on the LEFT CHEST — preserve that jumper's exact colour, knit texture, fit and the eagle emblem faithfully. Pair it with rust-orange tailored trousers (warm burnt-orange, #C65A20) and tan suede loafers. Heritage-preppy styling, well-fitted. The SECOND reference supplies ONLY the jumper — do not copy its background, its model's face, or its black trousers. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation, soft organic light. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED): Preserve the studio from the FIRST reference exactly — the tall window on the left, soft daylight pouring in, long geometric mullion-grid shadows across the smooth white floor. Large empty negative space filling the right side. Do NOT redesign the room, and do NOT remove or flatten the window light and floor shadows to plain even white. THE LIGHT: Soft natural daylight from the window on the left, gentle directional falloff — warm on his lit side, soft shadow on the other; crisp mullion shadows stretching across the floor. The jumper is relit entirely by this scene's light; discard the flat product-shot lighting from the second reference. THE KEY DETAILS: The olive jumper with its gold eagle chest emblem reads clearly. No other text, no other logos, no animals — just the man in the empty studio. THE MOOD: A clean, upbeat heritage-knitwear campaign still; rich olive + rust color against white. THE COMPOSITION: Wide framing, the man small in the left third with generous negative space to his right, full-length, head in the upper-middle of the frame with comfortable headroom, matching the wide locked framing and camera distance of the first reference. Do NOT zoom in. THE CAMERA: Editorial campaign capture — a clean full-length fashion frame, eye-level, deep focus so the room and floor shadows stay sharp, neutral balanced daylight. 16:9.
4. The eagle, standing
Pose frame as the only reference. The eagle is all text: true size, standing on the floor, wings folded neatly, the cap held in its beak and lifted toward his hand. I wrote "not spread, not flying" into the still too.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in the same white studio from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across both subjects and the environment. THE VIBE: A bright, heritage-preppy campaign beat with a surreal twist — a majestic golden eagle standing calmly on the floor, presenting the cap. Clean white space, rich color, a grounded wildlife moment against the calm studio. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the man exactly, from the reference — same late-20s face, short neat dark hair, clean-shaven, warm medium skin tone, athletic build, the same olive-green Lyle & Scott lambswool crew-neck jumper with the gold Golden Eagle emblem on the left chest, rust-orange trousers and tan suede loafers. Do NOT source his face, hair, skin, or outfit from anything else. THE SUBJECTS: The man stands in the LEFT THIRD, same confident stance, turned toward the eagle with a delighted, slightly awed smile, bending slightly and reaching one hand down to receive the cap. STANDING on the white floor in the right-center is a magnificent golden eagle at true size (a large raptor, perched upright on the ground, roughly knee-to-thigh height on the man) — rich dark-brown plumage with a golden-tan nape and hackles, WINGS FOLDED neatly against its body (not spread, not flying), strong yellow talons gripping the floor, fierce amber eyes, hooked beak. It stands planted, facing him, head raised, and holds a burgundy flat cap gently in its BEAK, lifting it up toward his reaching hand — the handoff clearly about to happen, the cap near his fingers, reading as a deliberate delivery. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation, soft organic light. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED): Preserve the studio from the reference exactly — tall window on the left, soft daylight, long geometric mullion-grid shadows across the smooth white floor, large open negative space. Do NOT redesign the room, and do NOT remove or flatten the window light and floor shadows to plain even white. THE LIGHT: Soft natural daylight from the window on the left; both the man and the eagle lit by the same source — warm on their lit sides, soft shadow on the far sides, each casting a real soft shadow onto the white floor; crisp mullion shadows preserved. THE KEY DETAILS: The burgundy flat cap is the hero prop, clearly readable, offered in the eagle's beak toward the man's hand. Wings folded, bird standing on the ground. No text, no other logos. THE MOOD: A clean, elevated heritage-knitwear campaign still — calm, premium, rich olive/rust/gold against white. THE COMPOSITION: Wide framing matching the reference — the man small in the left third, the standing eagle in the right-center turned toward him, generous space around them, both full-length with comfortable headroom. Do NOT zoom in; hold the reference's camera distance and scale. THE CAMERA: Editorial campaign capture — clean full-length fashion frame, eye-level, deep focus so the room and floor shadows stay sharp, neutral balanced daylight. 16:9.
5. The end card
Here I mixed two things. The gold eagle emblem is the real file. The "LYLE & SCOTT" wordmark and "EST 1874" I let the model write from text, with a line saying the wordmark shows up exactly once. Doing it this way dodged the double-wordmark problem I'd hit with a logo on a white background.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in the same white studio from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across the wall and the environment. THE VIBE: A clean, confident brand end-card — the empty studio with the logo settled onto the back wall. Minimal, premium, calm. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED): Preserve the studio from the SECOND reference exactly — the tall window on the left, soft daylight, the long geometric mullion-grid shadows across the smooth white floor, the large empty room. No people, no animals. Do NOT redesign the room, and do NOT remove or flatten the window light and floor shadows to plain even white. THE LABEL: Centered on the clean white back wall, reproduce the Lyle & Scott logo lockup EXACTLY ONCE: - The golden eagle emblem from the FIRST reference, in flight with wings spread, bright golden-yellow with a dark charcoal outline — match its exact shape, proportion and colours faithfully. - Directly beneath the eagle, the wordmark "LYLE & SCOTT" in a bold black uppercase serif, and below that a thin horizontal rule flanking the smaller text "EST 1874" in black — rendered ONCE, correctly spelled, centered. Do NOT repeat, duplicate, echo or stack the text; there is exactly ONE wordmark. Clean, sharp, flat against the wall as if applied as a single decal. THE LIGHT: Soft natural daylight from the window on the left; gentle falloff across the wall, crisp mullion shadows preserved on the floor. THE MOOD: A premium minimalist brand sign-off frame. THE COMPOSITION: Wide framing matching the second reference's camera distance — the full logo lockup centered on the upper-middle of the back wall at a tasteful size, generous white space around it, floor and window shadows visible below. Do NOT zoom in. THE CAMERA: Editorial campaign capture — clean, eye-level, deep focus so the wall logo and floor shadows stay sharp, neutral balanced daylight. 16:9.
6. Walk-in
Empty room to pose frame. He walks in from the right and slips a hand in his pocket at the end.
Exact prompt
Create a new video where a man in an olive Lyle & Scott jumper and rust trousers walks into an empty bright white studio from the right and settles into a relaxed pose in the left third. Soft daylight from a tall left window, long mullion shadows on the white floor, calm and premium. The room and its light stay constant; only the man walks in. [SCENE 1] THE STARTING FRAME: the empty white studio, tall left window, daylight, geometric mullion shadows across the floor, no one in the room. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED): the window, light and floor shadows stay static throughout. [SCENE 2] The man — olive crew-neck jumper with the small gold eagle chest emblem, rust trousers, tan loafers — walks IN from the right edge of frame, striding left across the floor at an easy confident pace, facing his direction of travel. ONE single man, no clones, no duplicates. Grounded natural footsteps, no sliding, no backward motion. [SCENE 3] He arrives in the LEFT THIRD and settles into a relaxed stance, weight on one leg, one hand slipping into his pocket, shoulders turning slightly toward the open room, an easy half-smile — landing exactly on the final frame. The frame is locked throughout; no camera movement, no push.
7. Why the eagle walks
And listen, my first try at this clip had the eagle sweep in with its wings beating, hover in front of him and hand the cap over from its talons. It came out bad. There was no real wingbeat. Flight is a known weak spot for video models.
So I redid it grounded. The eagle walks in on its talons, wings folded, and lifts the cap from its beak to his hand. I said it three ways in the prompt: wings folded, walking, never flying. Much steadier.
Exact prompt
Create a new video where a man in an olive Lyle & Scott jumper and rust trousers stands in a bright white studio, and a magnificent golden eagle sweeps in from the right, wings beating, and hovers before him holding a burgundy cap in its talons, lifting it toward his raised hand as the handoff is about to happen. Soft daylight from a tall left window, long mullion shadows on the white floor, calm and premium with one dramatic wildlife beat. The man, his outfit, the room and the lighting stay exactly as in the start frame; only the eagle flies in and presents the cap. [SCENE 1] THE STARTING FRAME: the man stands in the left third, weight on one leg, a soft smile, beginning to lift one hand. Video animates FROM this position. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED FROM FRAME): the tall left window, the daylight and the geometric mullion shadows on the floor stay static. He raises his hand a little and turns his head toward the right as the eagle appears. The frame is locked; no camera movement. [SCENE 2] A large golden eagle — dark-brown plumage, golden nape, broad wings — sweeps IN from the right edge of frame, flying left toward him with slow powerful wingbeats, a burgundy flat cap gripped in one talon. It decelerates as it nears him, wings spreading wide to brake, body tilting upright. Its shadow sweeps across the white floor beneath it. The frame stays locked, holding both the man and the incoming eagle. [SCENE 3] The eagle settles into a hover right in front of him, wings held wide and beating slowly, and extends one talon to lift the burgundy cap up toward his open hand. He reaches to meet it — the cap arriving at his fingers, the handoff about to complete, landing exactly on the final frame. Grounded, majestic, unhurried. The frame remains locked; no push, no drift. ONE man and ONE eagle only — no clones, no duplicates, no extra wings or limbs. The eagle flies forward naturally, facing its direction of travel, never backward or sliding. The man stays planted in the left third.
Exact prompt
Create a new video where a man in an olive Lyle & Scott jumper and rust trousers stands in a bright white studio, and a golden eagle walks in across the floor from the right, carrying a burgundy cap in its beak, approaches him and lifts the cap up toward his reaching hand as the handoff is about to happen. Soft daylight from a tall left window, long mullion shadows on the white floor, calm and premium. The man, his outfit, the room and the lighting stay exactly as in the start frame; only the eagle walks in and presents the cap. The eagle stays on the ground the whole time — wings folded, walking, never flying. [SCENE 1] THE STARTING FRAME: the man stands in the left third, weight on one leg, a soft smile, beginning to lean and lower one hand. Video animates FROM this position. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED FROM FRAME): the tall left window, the daylight and the geometric mullion shadows on the floor stay static. He leans slightly and lowers his hand toward the right as the eagle approaches. The frame is locked; no camera movement. [SCENE 2] A large golden eagle — dark-brown plumage, golden nape, WINGS FOLDED against its body — walks IN on foot from the right edge of frame, striding left across the white floor toward the man on its strong yellow talons, a burgundy flat cap held in its beak. It moves with a grounded, purposeful raptor walk, facing its direction of travel. Its shadow tracks across the floor beneath it. The frame stays locked, holding both the man and the approaching eagle. The eagle does NOT fly, does NOT open its wings, does NOT slide or move backward. [SCENE 3] The eagle reaches him, plants its feet, and raises its head to lift the burgundy cap up toward his open hand. He lowers his hand to meet it — the cap arriving at his fingers, the handoff about to complete, landing exactly on the final frame. Grounded, calm, unhurried. The frame remains locked; no push, no drift. ONE man and ONE eagle only — no clones, no duplicates, no extra limbs. The man stays planted in the left third.
8. Walk-off
He takes the cap, puts it on and nods to the eagle, then they both turn right and leave. I repeated the no-flying line here so the eagle stays on foot until it's out of frame. Then the logo appears.
Exact prompt
Create a new video where a man in an olive Lyle & Scott jumper and rust trousers takes a burgundy cap from a golden eagle standing on the floor, puts it on, gives the eagle a nod, and the two walk off together to the right out of frame — then the empty white studio holds for a beat and the Lyle & Scott logo appears on the back wall. Soft daylight from a tall left window, long mullion shadows on the white floor, calm and premium. The man, his outfit, the eagle, the room and the lighting stay exactly as in the start frame until they exit. The eagle stays on the ground the whole time, wings folded, walking — never flying. [SCENE 1] THE STARTING FRAME: the man is bent slightly toward the eagle, one hand at the burgundy cap the eagle holds up in its beak; the eagle stands on the floor facing him, wings folded. Video animates FROM this position. THE SETTING (UNCHANGED FROM FRAME): the tall left window, the daylight and the mullion floor shadows stay static. He takes the cap from the eagle's beak, straightens, and puts it on his head, then gives the eagle a small nod. The frame is locked; no camera movement. [SCENE 2] The man turns to face RIGHT; the eagle also turns to face RIGHT, pivoting its body toward the right edge of frame, wings staying folded. Both are now oriented toward the right, side by side — the man standing, the eagle on the floor beside him. [SCENE 3] Facing right, the two move off together toward the right edge and out of frame — the man at an easy stroll, the eagle walking on foot beside him on its talons, both moving forward in the direction they face, grounded. They exit the right side. NOT flying, NOT walking backward, NOT sliding. The frame stays locked. [SCENE 4] The studio is now empty — just the white room, the window light and the mullion shadows. After a short beat, the Lyle & Scott logo appears on the back wall: the gold golden-eagle emblem above the "LYLE & SCOTT" wordmark with "EST 1874" beneath — solid, centered, crisp and locked, landing exactly on the final frame. No camera push. ONE man and ONE eagle only — no clones, no duplicates.

Why it works
A golden eagle handing a man his cap is already the impossible beat. It doesn't need to fly to get there. Keeping it on the ground asked the model for a simple walk instead of flight, and the clip got a lot steadier.
Your turn: if your animal can fly, try it walking first and see if you even miss the wings.
