Nano Banana Pro - menswear campaign from a moodboard, one model in five lights
Turn a moodboard into five menswear shots, each lit a different way, with one model across all

Ever save a moodboard you love and then have no idea how to turn it into actual shots?
That was me with this one. Seven photos of guys alone on beaches at sunset, one sitting in a car trunk at night, one lit by a campfire under the stars. I wanted a campaign that felt like that, built around one black hooded track jacket with red to yellow flame panels from a real fashion brand. None of this is for a client, this was just a test.
Here's my exact process.
1. Have Claude read the moodboard back to you
Before I make anything, I attach the moodboard and say "study it and understand the aesthetic then repeat to me what you learned".
What came back was super useful. One guy alone on the coast, from golden hour into full night, never really posing for the camera. Amber and orange against teal and deep navy, with red as the accent. Film grain. And every photo was lit a different way: the sun setting behind him, a flash at dusk, a red light, a fire from below, a wall of orange haze.
The light turned out to be the main thing tying the board together, so I planned every shot around it.
2. Ask for range
Then I asked for the shots: "i want 5 people shots and 4 product shots. give me range". For me range means every frame changes three things from the one before it: how close the camera is, where the light comes from, and where he is.
So the five people shots became a wide walk on the beach at sunset, a medium shot at a car with a flash, a tight close-up in red light, a full body shot by a campfire, and a silhouette in orange haze.
3. Make the first shot and lock him in
Shot one is the only one where I describe him from scratch: mid-20s, lean, curly dark brown hair, olive skin, light stubble. I attach the brand's product photo of the jacket so the panels come out right, and put him barefoot on wet sand at sunset, jacket open, glancing back over his shoulder.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a wide empty beach at sunset from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: The last warm minutes of an endless summer. A young man walks alone along the waterline, unhurried, as if he has nowhere to be and never will. Freedom tinged with nostalgia — the feeling of a season ending. IDENTITY LOCK: The man is in his mid-20s, lean build, tousled dark-brown curly hair falling over his forehead, light olive skin with a warm-gold undertone, dark brown eyes, strong straight brows, light stubble along the jaw. Wear the hooded zip jacket exactly as shown in the first reference — do NOT redesign it. THE SUBJECT: He wears the black matte technical-shell hooded zip jacket from the first reference: red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient horn-shaped panels curving down from both shoulders across the chest, gradient crescent panels on both forearms, yellow-orange hood lining, small white lowercase wordmark on the left chest, silver zipper with a red diamond-shaped zip pull, yellow cuff edges. Jacket worn fully unzipped and open over bare chest, hood down, the wind lifting one side. Loose wide-leg cream linen trousers, rolled at the ankle, barefoot. He walks mid-stride through the thin sheet of receding surf, weight on the forward foot, head turned to glance back over his shoulder past the camera, expression calm and unreadable, one hand loose at his side. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation, soft organic light. THE SETTING: A long flat beach at low tide, the wet sand a mirror reflecting a dramatic sky of pink, peach and violet clouds with a band of burning orange at the horizon. Lines of white sea foam curl around his ankles; his footprints trail behind him; no one else on the beach. THE LIGHT: Low setting sun behind and to the right, golden rim light along his hair, shoulders and the jacket edges, the gradient panels glowing amber-red where the sun catches them; soft warm bounce from the wet sand fills the front. Highlights warm amber, shadows soft lilac. THE KEY DETAILS: The flame gradient panels on the jacket echo the burning sky; water droplets flicking from his foot; reflections of the clouds in the wet sand. THE MOOD: Warm-nostalgic grade, amber and rose against cool lilac shadows — an end-of-summer menswear editorial. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, full body, the man in the lower-left third walking toward frame-right, generous sky filling the upper half, horizon low. Slightly low camera angle. THE CAMERA: Cinematic editorial capture, 50mm-feel lens at walking distance, shallow-to-moderate depth of field with the far horizon gently soft, natural light only, Villeneuve-style vast isolated scale. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine full-frame film grain, slight softness in the highlights, not over-retouched. THE LABEL: The small white wordmark on the chest reads cleanly but small; the red diamond zip pull visible.
Then this image becomes his face reference for every other shot. I attach it first and the jacket photo second, and the prompt says which is which: his face and hair come from the first image, the jacket from the second.
It worked. He's the same guy in all five shots, even in the silhouette where you basically only get his curls.
4. Flash at dusk
For the car shot I wanted that raw snapshot feeling from the board, so I asked for a hard flash right on top of the camera. He sits in the open trunk of an old hatchback pulling the hood up, with the taillight glowing red next to him.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken at a sandy coastal pull-off at dusk from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: After the swim, before the drive home. A private in-between moment caught with a harsh flash — raw, youthful, a little rebellious. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the young man with tousled dark-brown curly hair and light olive skin, from the first reference. Do NOT source face, hair or skin from any other reference. THE SUBJECT: He wears the black matte technical-shell hooded zip jacket from the second reference, preserved exactly: red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient horn-shaped panels from both shoulders down the chest, gradient crescent panels on both forearms, yellow-orange hood lining, small white lowercase wordmark on the left chest, silver zipper with a red diamond-shaped zip pull, yellow cuff edges. Jacket unzipped over bare chest, with light-wash baggy blue jeans and worn black canvas skate sneakers. He sits on the edge of the open rear hatch of an old dark-blue 2000s hatchback, one knee raised with that foot on the bumper, both hands pulling the hood up over his damp curls, head tilted down, eyes glancing up just off-camera. Hair wet and messy. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation, a little sheen of salt water on the skin. THE SETTING: The car's open boot with a crumpled beach towel and a water bottle inside, dark pine trees and a deep blue-teal sky behind, sand on the bumper. THE LIGHT: Hard direct on-camera flash from just above the lens lights him and the jacket crisply, the flame panels vivid against black, with a sharp shadow cast on the interior of the boot; the background falls into deep teal-blue ambient dusk; the car's red taillight glows beside him, throwing a red cast on his jeans and the paint. THE KEY DETAILS: The glowing red taillight, a green charging cable dangling in the boot, water droplets on his skin. THE MOOD: Teal and red night grade with crushed blacks — gritty flash snapshot. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, medium shot from knees up, him slightly left of centre within the frame of the open hatch, the taillight at the lower-left. THE CAMERA: Direct flash snapshot, deep focus, everything sharp, slightly tilted handheld framing. THE AFTER EFFECT: Grain in the shadows, flash falloff toward the edges. THE LABEL: The small white chest wordmark readable but small; no licence plate text.
The flash makes the flame panels pop against the black, and everything behind him drops into deep teal. Little stuff like the crumpled towel and the green cable in the trunk makes it feel like a real night out.
5. Red light on the shoreline
This one's a tight close-up after sunset: one red light from the left on his face, the sea and sky staying cold blue behind him, wet curls, water on his skin.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a dark shoreline at blue hour from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: The sun is gone and he's still here. Drenched in red light against a cold dark sea — intense, magnetic, quietly confrontational. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the young man with tousled dark-brown curly hair and light olive skin, from the first reference. Do NOT source face, hair or skin from any other reference. THE SUBJECT: He wears the black matte technical-shell hooded zip jacket from the second reference, preserved exactly: red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient horn-shaped panels from both shoulders down the chest, gradient crescent panels on the forearms, yellow-orange hood lining, small white lowercase wordmark on the left chest, silver zipper with a red diamond-shaped zip pull. Zipped halfway, hood up but pushed back so wet dark curls spill across his forehead. He stands with shoulders slightly turned, chin lowered, eyes lifted straight into the lens under heavy lids, lips parted, one hand gripping the edge of the hood. THE FACE: Close portrait: visible pores with subtle variation, faint dewy sheen on the nose bridge and cheekbones, wet individual curls with flyaways, brown iris with a soft red catchlight, light stubble with individual hairs. Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin. THE SETTING: Behind him a dark flat sea and a thin band of dying orange-rose glow at the horizon under a deep navy sky. THE LIGHT: A single hard red gel light from frame-left bathes his face and the jacket in saturated crimson, deep shadow on the right side of his face; the black shell reads deep red-black and the gradient panels intensify; the background stays cold deep blue with no red spill — a strong red-versus-navy split. THE KEY DETAILS: Water droplets on his face and hood, the red diamond zip pull catching the light. THE MOOD: Crimson against navy, crushed blacks, cinematic intensity. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, tight head-and-shoulders, his face in the upper-centre-right with adequate headroom, the horizon line crossing behind his shoulders. THE CAMERA: Cinematic portrait, 85mm-feel lens, shallow depth of field, sea and sky soft behind, all light from the red practical lamp and the ambient sky, Fincher-style moody control. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine film grain, slight bloom around the red highlights. THE LABEL: Wordmark small and incidental.
And listen, it didn't come out as red as I asked for. On the moodboard it's a hard red light. Here it reads more like a warm glow on his face. If you want the hard red look, you'll probably have to push it harder than I did.
6. Campfire from below
For the night shot the fire is the only light. It sits just out of frame at the bottom and lights him from below, arms crossed, with mountains behind him and a sky full of stars.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken at a remote campsite below mountains under a star-filled night sky from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: Deep night, far from everything. He stands guard over a small fire under a sky full of stars — stoic, mythic, the flames on his jacket answering the real fire below. Zipped up to mid-chest over a black tee, hood down, with baggy faded light-grey jeans and scuffed boots. He stands with arms crossed over his chest, weight on one leg, head tilted slightly down, eyes looking just past the camera. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation. THE SETTING: Dark scrubby ground, jagged mountain ridge silhouetted behind him, a vast deep-navy sky thick with stars and one very bright star high in the upper-left with a long vertical light streak. THE LIGHT: A small campfire just out of frame at the bottom is the key light: flickering warm orange light from low below uplights his face, crossed arms and the jacket, making the gradient panels blaze; deep shadows thrown upward; faint orange bleed on the rocks nearby; a few rising embers drift through the lower frame. Everything else lit only by cold starlight. THE KEY DETAILS: Rising embers and faint smoke at the bottom edge, the bright star and its light streak. THE MOOD: Amber firelight against deep navy night — teal-orange, mythic. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, full body from a low angle, him in the lower-centre-right, the mountain ridge behind his shoulders, the starry sky filling the upper half. THE CAMERA: Cinematic low-angle capture, wide 28mm-feel lens, moderate depth of field, all light from the fire and the stars, Villeneuve-style vast isolation. THE AFTER EFFECT: Visible grain throughout the night sky, subtle long-exposure softness on the embers. THE LABEL: Wordmark small and incidental.
I asked for embers drifting up and they came out as long orange streaks, like they'd been shot on a slow shutter.
7. Silhouette in orange haze
The last one is the loosest. He's kicking up water in the shallows with his arms flung out, the sun right behind him through thick haze, so the whole frame turns orange and he goes almost black.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in the shallow surf of a beach inside a thick amber sunset haze from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. THE VIBE: Pure release. He dances alone in the shallows, dissolving into a wall of glowing orange air — dreamlike, joyful, almost abstract. IDENTITY LOCK: The young man with tousled dark-brown curly hair, from the first reference — his curly silhouette is the recognisable feature. Do NOT source hair or build from any other reference. THE SUBJECT: He wears the black hooded zip jacket from the second reference, open and flaring out from his body, with the red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient horn panels on the chest and the gradient crescent panels on the forearms, and baggy dark trousers. Caught mid-dance-kick: right leg kicked back and out, left foot planted in the surf, arms flung wide to both sides, fingers spread, torso twisted, head thrown slightly back. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no plastic skin; the face is mostly lost in silhouette. THE SETTING: Knee-deep shallow surf with small breaking waves and spray; the whole sky and sea merged into one dense, glowing, saturated orange haze with no visible horizon detail. THE LIGHT: Strong low sun directly behind him diffused through thick sea haze, backlighting him completely; the only colour on his body is the gradient panels of the jacket glowing faintly red-orange at the edges where the backlight passes around him. THE KEY DETAILS: Water spray kicked up by his foot, the jacket hem lifting. THE MOOD: Near-monochrome saturated amber-orange, dreamy and warm. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, full body small-to-medium in the lower-centre, huge glowing orange negative space above. THE CAMERA: Cinematic capture, 50mm-feel lens, soft focus, natural backlight only. THE AFTER EFFECT: Hard backlit silhouette — his body and the jacket a near-black shape against the orange; motion blur smearing his flung arms, the kicking leg and the spray, torso slightly sharper; heavy grain and soft haze glow across the whole frame. THE LABEL: No readable text.
The only color left on him is the edge of the flame panels, where the light wraps around his arms and chest.
8. Check the details before you post
It's not perfect. Look at the chest: the model misspelled the brand's wordmark on most of these and swapped the last letter. On the beach walk it also stuck a little red diamond tag on his trousers that I never asked for. I'd fix both before running these for real.
9. Lay out the grid
For the full campaign I put these 5 on a 3x3 grid with 4 shots of the jacket on its own, alternating product and person. I ordered them by color too: sunset amber at the top, teal and red in the middle, night at the bottom, then back to orange with the silhouette in the last spot.
Why it works
I didn't have to invent much. The moodboard already had the light, the colors and the kind of guy in it, Claude just had to write it down. After that, planning each shot was mostly me picking which light it gets and how close the camera sits. Changing both on every frame is how I got 9 shots of one guy in one jacket that don't feel like repeats.
Your turn: save 5 to 10 photos you love, attach them, and ask Claude to tell you what it sees before you make a single image.
And if you'd rather skip the prompting, Emero writes the prompt for each frame and remembers the guy you locked in for your next shoot. Everything's at cost.
