Nano Banana Pro - fashion campaign from a moodboard and one product photo
Turn a Pinterest moodboard and one product photo into on-model campaign shots
What do you actually do with a Pinterest moodboard once you've made it?
I had one saved: eight desert road trip photos with saguaros, dunes, old trucks and a lot of golden hour. I also had a product photo of real camo fatigue pants I liked. So I tried turning the two into a campaign. Nobody paid me for this, the pants just fit the vibe. These are the five shots with a person in them.
Here's my exact process.
1. Have Claude read the moodboard first
Before writing a single prompt, I attached the board and said "study it and understand the aesthetic then repeat to me what you learned".
It came back with four kinds of shots the board keeps repeating: big confident fashion portraits, a tiny person in a huge landscape, a passenger seat view out the window, and nature details with nobody in them. It also wrote down what never changes: burnt orange and sand against a pale blue sky, low golden sun, and soft film grain.
That list basically became my plan. Every shot gets the same colors, light and grain, and only the kind of shot changes.
2. Make the hero shot first
I started with the shot I'd put on a billboard: her on a white vintage sports car above a desert lake. The prompt described the pants in detail on top of the product photo, down to the print colors, the five black buttons and the big patch pockets.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a desert overlook above a blue reservoir in the Arizona Sonoran desert from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the exact camouflage wide-leg fatigue trousers from the first reference. THE VIBE: A 1970s road-trip fashion editorial — sun-drunk, effortless, a little tomboy. She has pulled over on an empty desert road just to sit on the car and take in the view; nobody is rushing anywhere. IDENTITY LOCK: The woman is in her mid-twenties with long, loose, wavy honey-blonde hair with lighter sun-bleached streaks, light skin with a warm-golden undertone and a light dusting of freckles across the nose and cheeks, light hazel-green eyes, straight brows, bare minimal makeup, a slim athletic build. THE SUBJECT: She sits on the roof edge of the car with her legs hanging down over the open driver's window, one leg crossed over the other at the knee, one hand resting flat on the roof behind her, the other hand tucking hair behind her ear, gaze sent off-camera toward the lake. She wears the camouflage fatigue trousers from the first reference — the vintage hunter camouflage print on a pale khaki-sand base with irregular blotches of olive green, leaf green, chocolate brown and tan, cotton herringbone twill with a soft washed fade, high rise, a baggy wide straight leg, an exposed five-button fly with round black buttons, belt loops, large square patch pockets at the hips, darts at the knees. Preserve the print, colours, buttons and cut exactly. With them: a slightly oversized plain white cotton crewneck tee tucked loosely at the front, a black cotton bucket hat, worn off-white leather cowboy boots with stitched shafts. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation and a faint warm flush on the cheeks and nose, soft organic light; individual hair strands with flyaways lifted by the breeze. THE SETTING: A white 1970s rounded-fender sports coupe with chrome trim and a light coat of desert dust, parked on a gravel pull-out. Behind: a winding blue-green reservoir between rugged brown mountains, the slopes studded with tall saguaro cacti, creosote and palo verde scrub in the foreground edges. THE LIGHT: Late golden-hour sun low from frame-left, warm and raking, long soft shadows across the car body, a gentle warm rim on her hair and shoulder, specular glints on the chrome matching the sun direction; shadows open and slightly lifted, never crushed. THE KEY DETAILS: The camouflage trousers are the hero — the full print and the five black buttons clearly readable, the fabric folding naturally at the knees; dust on the boot toes; a faint lens flare at the frame-left edge. THE MOOD: Warm-nostalgic grade: amber and terracotta highlights, faded cream whites, cool teal-blue in the water and shadows as counterpoint. Free, sunlit, unbothered. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame. The car occupies the lower third, cropped at the frame-right edge; she sits at the right third, full body visible from hat to boots; the lake and mountains fill the upper-left with generous headroom. THE CAMERA: Editorial campaign photograph, eye-level from slightly below, 50mm-equivalent perspective, moderate depth of field — she is razor-sharp, the far mountains gently soft. Naturalistic, Deakins-like available light. ALL light from the sun. NO studio lighting. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine full-frame analogue film grain, slightly faded blacks and a soft warm halation around the brightest highlights.
I asked for her sitting on the roof and she ended up leaning on the door instead. I kept it anyway, it's a better pose 🙂
3. Use that shot as her face for the rest
Then I passed the hero shot back in as a second reference for every other person shot, along with the product photo. The prompt says to take only her face, hair and skin from it, and nothing from her outfit or the setting. I added that line so the white tee and bucket hat don't follow her into every shot.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in a Mojave desert Joshua tree forest from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the exact camouflage wide-leg fatigue trousers from the first reference. THE VIBE: Quiet western cool — a lone figure in the hazy golden dust of the high desert, dwarfed by an ancient twisted tree, calm and self-possessed, like a still from a slow road movie. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the woman with long wavy honey-blonde sun-streaked hair and a light freckled face, from the second reference. Take only her face, hair and skin from the second reference — do NOT copy her outfit, pose or setting from it. THE SUBJECT: She stands beside the trunk of a large Joshua tree, weight on one leg, one hand raised resting on the brim of her hat shading her eyes, the other hand hooked in a front pocket, looking off into the distance. She wears the camouflage fatigue trousers from the first reference — the vintage hunter camouflage print on a pale khaki-sand base with irregular blotches of olive green, leaf green, chocolate brown and tan, cotton herringbone twill with a soft washed fade, high rise, baggy wide straight leg, exposed five-button fly with round black buttons, belted with a black leather western belt with a silver buckle. With them: a fitted black ribbed tank top, a black felt wide-brim western hat, black leather ankle boots. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, subtle tonal variation, soft organic light. THE SETTING: A dry Mojave valley floor of dry golden grass and scrub, many Joshua trees receding into haze, a soft low mountain ridge in the background. The foreground Joshua tree has shaggy bark and spiky dark-green leaf clusters, its branches arching over the top of the frame. THE LIGHT: Late golden-hour sun low from behind her at frame-left, a warm glowing rim around her hair, hat and the trouser edges, a hazy amber atmosphere, soft backlit dust; the front of her softly lit by bounce from the ground. THE KEY DETAILS: The camo print readable despite the backlight; dust motes in the air. THE MOOD: Warm-nostalgic grade, muted gold and amber, black accents, hazy and soft. Moody, western, still. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame. The Joshua tree trunk rises through the left third, its spiky branches framing the top; she stands at the right third, full body, small — about one-third of frame height; open desert around her. THE CAMERA: Cinematic campaign photograph, Deakins-like naturalistic backlight, 85mm-equivalent telephoto compression flattening the trees behind, she is sharp, the background softly hazy. ALL light from the sun. NO studio lighting. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine full-frame analogue film grain, faded lifted blacks, soft warm halation around the rim light.
It's clearly the same woman, just in a totally different look: black hat, black tank and a western belt under a Joshua tree, with the sun behind her.
4. Make her small
The moodboard had a lot of shots where the person is tiny, so I did one. She's walking a dune ridge away from the camera, barefoot, carrying her boots, with her footprints running up from the bottom of the frame.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on the crest of a giant sand dune in the Sahara-like desert from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the exact camouflage wide-leg fatigue trousers from the first reference. THE VIBE: Solitude and scale — a lone figure walking the razor edge of a dune into endless sand, the wind pulling at her clothes. Meditative, cinematic, free. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the woman with long wavy honey-blonde sun-streaked hair, from the second reference. Take only her hair and build from the second reference — do NOT copy her outfit, pose or setting from it. THE SUBJECT: Seen from behind, she walks away from the camera barefoot along the dune ridge, mid-stride, one arm swinging, her long hair lifted sideways by the wind. She wears the camouflage fatigue trousers from the first reference — the vintage hunter camouflage print on a pale khaki-sand base with irregular blotches of olive green, leaf green, chocolate brown and tan, cotton herringbone twill with a soft washed fade, the baggy wide legs billowing and rippling in the wind, hems dusted with sand. With them: a loose white linen button-up shirt with sleeves rolled, its tail flapping. She carries a pair of off-white cowboy boots in one hand. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin; individual hair strands blown by wind. THE SETTING: A sharp curving dune crest of pale peach-orange sand, one side in light, one in shadow, rolling dunes to the horizon, sparse dark desert shrubs on the flats far below. Clear turquoise-blue sky. THE LIGHT: Bright late-afternoon sun from frame-right, crisp shadow down the dune's leeward face, warm sand, clean blue sky. THE KEY DETAILS: A trail of her deep footprints running along the ridge from the bottom of the frame to her feet; fine sand blowing off the crest. THE MOOD: Warm-nostalgic grade, peach sand against turquoise sky, the camo's olive and brown reading as earthy counterpoint. Wanderlust, solitude. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame. The dune ridge line runs as a leading line from the lower-right corner up to her at the upper-left third; she is small in frame, about one-fifth of the height; vast sky and sand around her. THE CAMERA: Cinematic campaign photograph, Villeneuve-like vastness and isolation, 35mm-equivalent perspective, eye-level from behind on the ridge, deep focus. ALL light from the sun. NO studio lighting. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine full-frame analogue film grain, slightly faded blacks.
You can't see her face at all here, and it still sells the pants because the wind pulls the wide legs.
5. Let one shot look like a phone photo
Half the board looked like someone's vacation pics, so one shot had to feel that way too. I asked for an iPhone snapshot out by the quad bikes with a faded filter and a headscarf blowing in the wind.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on orange sand dunes at an off-road quad-bike stop from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the exact camouflage wide-leg fatigue trousers from the first reference. THE VIBE: A friend's candid snapshot mid-adventure — windblown, grinning, a little dusty, the kind of photo that ends up as everyone's favourite from the trip. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the woman with long wavy honey-blonde sun-streaked hair and a light freckled face, from the second reference. Take only her face, hair and skin from the second reference — do NOT copy her outfit, pose or setting from it. THE SUBJECT: She stands straddling the seat of a white-and-red sport ATV, one hand on the handlebar, the other hand holding her headscarf against the wind, head turned slightly toward the camera with a big easy smile, hair and scarf ends whipping sideways. She wears the camouflage fatigue trousers from the first reference — the vintage hunter camouflage print on a pale khaki-sand base with irregular blotches of olive green, leaf green, chocolate brown and tan, cotton herringbone twill with a soft washed fade, high rise, baggy wide straight leg, exposed five-button fly with round black buttons, large square patch pockets — dust on the knees. With them: a fitted black cropped tank top, a red-and-white checked cotton headscarf tied over her hair with long tails, small round dark sunglasses. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, a faint sheen of sun and dust, real freckles, soft organic light. THE SETTING: Rolling deep-orange sand dunes, two more quad bikes parked behind her in the mid-ground (one red, one white), tyre tracks carved through the sand, a partly cloudy pale sky. THE LIGHT: Bright afternoon desert sun, warm and slightly hazy, soft shadows under the bikes. THE KEY DETAILS: The camo trousers fully readable from waist to ankle; tyre tracks; sand spray on the ATV fender. THE MOOD: Slightly faded warm snapshot grade, lifted shadows, warm cast. Fun, energetic, adventurous. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, she and the ATV occupy the centre-right, three-quarter length from the shoulders to below the knees, slightly off-centre, dunes and bikes behind; a bit loose and handheld. THE CAMERA: An authentic iPhone snapshot, deep focus, everything sharp, NO background blur, eye-level candid. THE AFTER EFFECT: A faded vintage social-media photo filter — slightly washed-out colours, warm cast, soft vignette at the corners.
It's a little loose and a little washed out, which is exactly what I wanted next to the polished ones.
6. Check the product in every frame
And listen, one shot broke. The kick shot looks great at first glance, but zoom in on the pants. The print turned into regular woodland camo with big leaf shapes instead of the blotchy hunter camo on the real pair.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in the Sonoran desert beside a giant saguaro cactus from the start — not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the exact camouflage wide-leg fatigue trousers from the first reference. THE VIBE: Pure play — she's goofing with the photographer, kicking her boot right at the lens and laughing. Loose, joyful, unposed energy under a pale evening sky. IDENTITY LOCK: Preserve the woman with long wavy honey-blonde sun-streaked hair and a light freckled face, from the second reference. Take only her face, hair and skin from the second reference — do NOT copy her outfit, pose or setting from it. THE SUBJECT: She stands on one leg with her right leg kicked high straight toward the camera, the worn tan suede cowboy boot sole huge and close in the foreground, her arms flung out wide for balance, head tilted back mid-laugh, hair swinging. She wears the camouflage fatigue trousers from the first reference — the vintage hunter camouflage print on a pale khaki-sand base with irregular blotches of olive green, leaf green, chocolate brown and tan, cotton herringbone twill with a soft washed fade, high rise, baggy wide straight leg, exposed five-button fly with round black buttons, large square patch pockets at the hips — the kicked leg's fabric falling back to show the full print. With them: a rust-and-cream paisley cotton bandana tied over her hair, a cropped cream crochet knit top. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, real skin with subtle tonal variation and freckles, soft organic light; a genuine open laugh, teeth showing, eyes crinkled. THE SETTING: A tall many-armed saguaro cactus directly behind her, dry silvery-gold brittlebush and desert scrub around her feet, pale blue-grey sky above. THE LIGHT: Soft late-evening sun low from frame-right, warm on her face and the cactus ribs, gentle shadows; the sky pale and airy. THE KEY DETAILS: The camo trousers readable on both legs; the boot sole dusty and scuffed. THE MOOD: Warm-nostalgic grade, sun-warmed skin, sage green cactus, pale sky. Carefree, playful, young. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, extreme low angle from near the ground looking up. The boot fills the lower-right corner, her body rising diagonally through the centre, the saguaro towering behind her head at centre-left. THE CAMERA: Editorial campaign photograph, ultra-wide 18mm-equivalent perspective exaggerating the foreground boot, her face and trousers sharp. ALL light from the sun. NO studio lighting. THE AFTER EFFECT: Motion blur on the kicking boot sole only, softly smeared; the rest sharp; fine full-frame analogue film grain; faded blacks.
My guess is the extreme low angle and the leg flying at the lens, but I haven't tested that. There's also a thin black bar along the top edge. So this is the one I'd redo before posting. Now I compare every frame to the product photo before I call a set done.
Why it works
Most of the creative calls were already sitting in the moodboard. Once Claude wrote down the colors, the light, the grain and the four kinds of shots, each prompt reused that list and only changed the pose and the place. And the five scenes ended up reading like one shoot.
Your turn: pick eight pins you love, ask Claude what they have in common, and use the answer as your shot list.
If you want help with the prompts, Emero writes them for a whole campaign and remembers her face and the look for the next shot, at cost.
