Nano Banana Pro - serum product shots in four styles

Four serum product shots with no model, from a spotlight hero to a giant bottle on a salt flat

Nano Banana Pro - serum product shots in four styles

Do you actually need a person in the shot to sell a skincare product?

For this one I made four shots of a navy serum with no model in them: a dark spotlight hero, a block of ice, a cloud of petals and a giant bottle on a salt flat. The giant one has a tiny person for scale, and that's it. The brand's own packshot was the product reference every time. No brand deal here, I just liked the bottle.

Here's my exact process.

1. Pick the surface, then say what the light does to it

For product shots I start with what the bottle is sitting in or on. Then I describe exactly what the light does to that material.

Black marble and navy velvet got one hard spotlight from above left, a thin rim of light down both edges of the bottle so it doesn't sink into the dark, and dust floating in the beam.

Exact prompt

Create a new photorealistic image. THE VIBE: The luxury hero — one bottle, one beam of light, total focus. Dark, rich, reverent. THE SUBJECT: The product from the first reference stands upright on a low block of polished black marble with faint white veining, three-quarter view. THE PRODUCT (preserve exactly, from the first reference): a tall slim cylindrical airless serum bottle in deep glossy midnight navy blue, the matching navy cap forming the top third with a thin horizontal seam line, high-gloss finish with sharp edges and crisp reflections; a thin white outlined vertical oval containing the white serif wordmark DIEUX centred on the body, with small white serif text 'Deliverance' and '3-in-1 Repair Serum' beneath. Do NOT redesign or recolour it. THE SETTING: A deep midnight-navy studio void with folds of navy silk velvet draped behind the block, falling into darkness. THE LIGHT: A single hard spotlight from above-left carving a pool of light on the marble; a thin crisp rim light along both edges of the bottle separating it from the dark; a clean vertical specular streak down the front; fine dust particles drifting in the beam. THE KEY DETAILS: The bottle's faint reflection in the polished marble, a tiny smudge on the marble surface, velvet pile catching light. THE MOOD: Reverent, opulent, quiet luxury. THE COMPOSITION: Bottle centred low, dominant and razor-sharp, beam of light from the upper left, generous darkness above. THE CAMERA: Studio hero product photograph, straight-on at bottle height, everything on the product sharp. Every element feels tactile and present, hyperreal, highly detailed. No blown-out highlights. THE LABEL: Foreground the DIEUX oval logo and product name — crisp, correctly spelled and legible.

The ice got light from behind, shining through the block so you can see the trapped air bubbles and the cracks.

Exact prompt

Create a new photorealistic image. THE VIBE: Calm, cooled, repaired — the serum encased in ice. Crisp, cold, glacial blue and white. THE SUBJECT: The product from the first reference is frozen upright inside a clear, slightly cracked block of ice, surrounded by crushed ice and frost, the ice beginning to melt at its base. THE PRODUCT (preserve exactly, from the first reference): a tall slim cylindrical airless serum bottle in deep glossy midnight navy blue, the matching navy cap forming the top third with a thin horizontal seam, high-gloss finish; a thin white outlined vertical oval with the white serif wordmark DIEUX centred on the body. Do NOT redesign or recolour it. THE SETTING: A pale icy-blue gradient backdrop, the ice block standing on a wet reflective pale surface with a puddle of meltwater. THE LIGHT: Strong backlight shining through the ice into internal luminosity, revealing trapped air bubbles and fracture lines; a cool key from the front-right; crisp rim along the bottle edges visible through the ice; sparkling specular highlights on crushed ice. THE KEY DETAILS: Frost crystals on the ice surface, droplets running down, fine cracks refracting the logo slightly. THE MOOD: Fresh, soothing, cold-clinical luxury. THE COMPOSITION: Ice block centred, three-quarter angle, crushed ice scattered in the foreground, soft gradient behind. THE CAMERA: Studio product photograph, eye level, sharp focus on the bottle through the ice. Hyperreal, highly detailed, tactile. THE LABEL: DIEUX oval logo readable through clear ice; fine print softened by refraction.

2. When the label is the hero, ask for the real text

On the spotlight shot I wanted the label sharp, so I wrote the actual product name into the prompt and asked for it crisp and spelled right. It came back clean, product name and all.

On the other shots I let the small text go soft on purpose. In the ice shot a crack cuts through the small French line on the label, and I'm fine with that because the logo still reads.

3. Float it with no support

For the petals I asked for the bottle hanging mid-frame at a slight tilt with no visible support, with blue hydrangea florets drifting around it. Some petals sit in front of the bottle and go blurry, which gives the shot depth. One petal even landed on its shoulder.

Exact prompt

Create a new photorealistic image. THE VIBE: Soft and weightless — the bottle floating in a cloud of blue petals. Romantic, airy, blooming. THE SUBJECT: The product from the first reference is suspended mid-frame at a slight tilt, no visible support, surrounded by drifting blue hydrangea florets and a few loose pale periwinkle petals, some in front of and some behind it. THE SETTING: A soft lilac-to-powder-blue gradient backdrop. THE LIGHT: Soft diffuse light from above and a gentle backlight glowing through the thin petals; clean rim light on the bottle; a soft specular highlight down its length. THE KEY DETAILS: Near petals out of focus in the foreground, a few dew droplets on petals, one petal resting against the bottle's shoulder. THE MOOD: Dreamy, fresh, feminine, pastel. THE COMPOSITION: Bottle centred and dominant, petals swirling in a loose spiral around it, layered depth from foreground blur to background. THE CAMERA: Studio product photograph, shallow depth of field, bottle razor-sharp. Hyperreal, tactile, no composited feel. THE LABEL: DIEUX oval logo crisp and readable; fine print soft.

4. Give the surreal shot one impossible thing

For the last one I gave myself exactly one impossible thing: the bottle is as tall as a ten story building. Everything else is real. A cracked salt flat under a thin sheet of water, dusk, and a tiny woman in a white dress walking toward it with a long shadow.

Exact prompt

Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a vast salt flat at dusk from the start — not a composite. THE VIBE: The monolith — a surreal, colossal version of the serum standing alone on an endless salt flat, one tiny figure walking toward it. Awe, scale, stillness. One clear uncanny rule: the bottle is the size of a building. THE SUBJECT: The product from the first reference, enormous — as tall as a ten-storey tower — standing upright on the salt flat, perfectly smooth and glossy. A tiny lone human figure in a flowing white dress walks toward it in the middle distance, casting a long shadow. THE PRODUCT (preserve exactly, from the first reference): a tall slim cylindrical airless serum bottle in deep glossy midnight navy blue, the matching navy cap forming the top third with a thin horizontal seam, high-gloss finish reflecting the sky; a thin white outlined vertical oval with the white serif wordmark DIEUX centred on the body. Do NOT redesign or recolour it. THE SETTING: A cracked white salt flat with a thin sheet of water reflecting the sky and the giant bottle, flat horizon, distant low mountains. THE LIGHT: Dusk — the sun just below the horizon, a sky graded from warm peach at the horizon to deep indigo overhead; the glossy bottle reflects the sky gradient along its length with a bright rim on the horizon side. THE KEY DETAILS: The mirrored reflection of bottle and figure in the water, salt hexagon cracks in the foreground, the figure's long shadow. THE MOOD: Epic, meditative, surreal. THE COMPOSITION: Low horizon in the lower third, bottle slightly right of centre towering into the sky, tiny figure on the left, vast negative space. THE CAMERA: Cinematic wide landscape, low angle, deep focus; vast isolated scale in the manner of Denis Villeneuve. ALL light from the sky. NO studio lighting. THE LABEL: The giant DIEUX oval logo clearly readable on the bottle; fine print omitted by distance.

The sunset sky reflects down the whole bottle, and the logo still reads at that size. I kept the rest of the world normal so the giant bottle is the only strange thing in it.

What broke

Honestly not much on this set. I asked for the bottle to stand upright in the ice and it came out tilted. I kinda like it though, so I kept it.

Why it works

Each of these four shots is built on one surface and one light: marble under a spotlight, ice lit from behind, petals with a soft glow, a salt flat at dusk. I picked those two things first on every shot and wrote the rest of the prompt around them.

Your turn: take a photo of your product and write one sentence about what light would do to the surface you'd put it on.

Emero turns one packshot into hero shots like these and remembers the bottle for every shot after, at cost.
