Gemini - streetwear campaign from a moodboard and one product photo
Turn a neon moodboard and one flat jacket photo into a streetwear campaign
Ever saved a moodboard you love and then had no clue how to turn it into an actual campaign?
That was me with a board of neon streetwear shots. I had eight images (one was in there twice) and one flat product photo of a circuit-pattern anorak on a white background. Nobody hired me for this, I just wanted to see how far a single product photo could go.
Here's my exact process.
1. Have Claude read the moodboard back to you
Before making anything, I dropped the board into the chat and said "study it and understand the aesthetic then repeat to me what you learned".
It came back with stuff I'd felt but never put into words. Electric cyan and cobalt everywhere, hot magenta as the accent, and amber only once or twice as a warm surprise. Every light comes from something in the scene, like neon tubes, old TVs, LED visors and city windows. And almost nobody shows their face.
If it had read the board wrong, I would've caught it right there before spending a cent.
2. Ask for the mix you want
Then I attached the product photo and asked for "3 vibe scene shots and 6 people shots. once done present it in alternating order. so person, vibe, person".
My math was off, 3 + 6 is 9 ๐ Claude pointed it out and suggested a shot of the jacket on its own as the tenth. It also laid out every shot before generating anything, so I could swap stuff out before paying for it. I like alternating because the world shots give each outfit some room to breathe.
3. Build the world without the product
The vibe shots are the world the jacket lives in, so they don't need the jacket at all. These two came from a prompt alone, no reference image. I picked two of the places from the moodboard: an old hacker room stacked with CRT TVs, and a dense neon city seen from above with pagodas and drones.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. A scene with no people. THE VIBE: A forgotten hacker den at 3am โ the machines are still talking to someone who just left. Analog retro-futurism, lo-fi tech clutter, eerie and warm with signal. THE SETTING: A cramped dark room with a wall of 9 mismatched stacked CRT television monitors of different sizes and beige and black plastic casings, each screen showing cyan-blue static, rolling VHS glitch bars and one with a green-magenta interference stripe. In front of them an empty worn black office chair, slightly turned, with a thick tangle of black cables spilling over the seat and pooling on the concrete floor. Tape decks, a cassette, a keyboard with missing keys and a coiled phone cord on the floor. Dust in the air. Not a clean set โ a used, lived-in space. THE LIGHT: All light from the CRT screens only โ a cold cyan-blue glow washing the chair and cables from the front, a single hot magenta neon strip on the left wall edge-lighting the cables. Deep crushed blacks, pools of light, uneven colour temperatures. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Scan lines visible on the screens; haze catching the screen light as soft beams; cable reflections; dust motes. THE MOOD: Cyan-dominant grade with magenta accent, moody and nostalgic, cyberpunk analog. THE COMPOSITION: Chair centred low in frame, monitor wall filling the upper two thirds, symmetrical, foreground out-of-focus cable on the floor. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, 35mm-equivalent lens, eye level slightly low, shallow depth of field with the foreground softly blurred, Fincher-style gritty tone. THE AFTER EFFECT: Heavy full-frame analog film grain and subtle chromatic aberration at the edges.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. A scene with no people in focus. THE VIBE: A dense cyberpunk megacity at night seen from above, where old temples and new towers collide โ surreal, vast, humming with light. The world the campaign lives in. THE SETTING: A deep canyon-like street lined with layered pagoda rooftops and tightly packed buildings covered in glowing signage in cyan, magenta and amber, receding into haze. Glass towers rise behind. Three small quadcopter drones hover mid-air with tiny red lights. The street far below is wet and glittering with car light trails and tiny crowds. Steam rising from vents. Not clean โ dense, layered, lived in. THE LIGHT: Practical only โ thousands of neon signs, windows and lanterns; cyan and magenta dominate with warm amber pockets from the lanterns; atmospheric haze scattering all of it into glowing layers. Deep shadows between buildings. THE KEY DETAILS: Signage with abstract glyphs, no readable words; wires strung between buildings; wet reflective road. THE MOOD: Cyan-magenta grade with amber counterpoint, awe and density, retro-futurist cyberpunk. THE COMPOSITION: Vertical frame, high vantage looking down the street's length, strong leading lines to a vanishing point, drones in the upper third, foreground out-of-focus rooftop edge at the bottom. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, telephoto compression from a high vantage, deep focus, Villeneuve-style scale. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine film grain, atmospheric haze, soft halation on the brightest signs.
4. Hide the faces
Almost every face on the moodboard was covered, so I kept that going. Visors, deep hoods, a screen for a head. I liked how it made everyone feel kind of anonymous, like they belong to that world.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a skyscraper rooftop at night from the start โ not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: A heroic anonymous figure above a glass megacity at night โ calm dominance, the jacket as armour. Retro-futurist streetwear, the person as a signal rather than a face. IDENTITY LOCK: The garment is the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. THE SUBJECT: A tall Black man, broad-shouldered, wearing the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon with the all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown metal half-zip, horizontal zip chest pocket, drawstring hood, elastic cuffs, drawcord hem with black toggles, small red circular patch on the left sleeve. Hood down. His eyes are covered by a sleek wraparound matte-black visor with a thin glowing cyan LED line across it. Wide black cargo pants, high-top silver sneakers. Pose: standing with weight on his back leg, one hand in the chest pocket opening, chin raised, gazing off past the camera to the right. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic skin, deep skin with warm undertone and specular sheen on the cheekbones and nose bridge. THE SETTING: A wet black rooftop edge with puddles, glass skyscrapers lit with thousands of cool blue windows towering behind and around him, faint haze and a light drizzle. THE LIGHT: Practical sources only โ cool cyan city glow from below and behind rim-lighting his shoulders and hood, a magenta signage glow from frame-left kissing one side of the jacket, the visor LED casting a faint cyan line on his cheeks. Specular reflections on the wet rooftop match the jacket's highlights. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Rain droplets beaded on the nylon shoulders; the circuit pattern readable in the rim light; skyline reflected in puddles. THE MOOD: Cobalt-cyan grade with a magenta accent, heroic and quiet, cyberpunk night. THE COMPOSITION: Full body, extreme low angle from near the ground, figure towering and centred, skyscrapers converging above him, headroom kept. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, wide 24mm-equivalent lens exaggerating the height, deep focus, Villeneuve-style vast scale. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine film grain, soft halation around city lights.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken inside a dark room full of CRT monitors from the start โ not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: An anonymous operator swallowed by machines โ hood up, face lost to the glow. Lo-fi analog tech meets streetwear, secretive and magnetic. IDENTITY LOCK: The garment is the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. THE SUBJECT: A slim person seated slouched low in a worn chair, wearing the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon, all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown half-zip, horizontal zip chest pocket, small red circular patch on the left sleeve, drawcord hem. The hood is pulled fully up and cinched, its light grey patterned lining visible at the edge, the face inside completely in shadow except a faint cyan glow on the chin. Forearms resting on the knees, hands loosely clasped, black cargo pants, cables draped across the chair and feet. THE FACE: Natural skin texture on the small visible chin area, no plastic skin. THE SETTING: Surrounded by stacked mismatched CRT televisions showing cyan static and glitch bars, thick cable tangles over the floor, a tape deck and old keyboard at the feet, haze in the air. A used, cluttered space โ not a clean set. THE LIGHT: All light from the CRT screens โ cold cyan wash from the front and sides sculpting the jacket's raised pattern, one magenta screen behind throwing a pink rim onto the hood edge. Deep crushed blacks. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Scan-line light patterns falling across the nylon; the red sleeve patch a small warm accent; dust in the beams. THE MOOD: Cyan-dominant grade with magenta rim, mysterious and moody, cyberpunk analog. THE COMPOSITION: Three-quarter body, figure centred and low, screens wrapping around the frame, foreground out-of-focus monitor edge. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, 50mm-equivalent lens, shallow depth of field, Fincher-style gritty tone. THE AFTER EFFECT: Heavy analog film grain across the frame, slight VHS chromatic fringing at the edges.
5. Put the jacket on people
Every person shot used the same flat product photo as a reference, and every prompt also described the jacket in words: the zip at the neck, the zipped pocket across the chest, the drawcord hem and the little red sleeve patch. The pattern, the zips and the patch held up in every shot where you can see them.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken inside a neon wireframe tunnel set from the start โ not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: Retro-futurist streetwear campaign โ a dancer mid-move inside an electric light vortex, raw confident energy. The future as imagined in 1987, worn today. IDENTITY LOCK: The garment is the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. Do NOT redesign it. THE SUBJECT: A young Black woman with long thin box braids falling past her shoulders, lean athletic build, wearing the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon, an all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown metal half-zip at the neck, a horizontal zip pocket across the chest, drawstring hood down, elastic cuffs, drawcord hem with black toggles, small red circular patch on the left sleeve. Baggy black cargo pants, chunky white sneakers. Pose: a wide low dance stance, knees bent, weight shifted onto her left leg, right arm extended out to the side with fingers splayed, head turned slightly away from camera, face mostly in shadow. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic or waxy skin, deep skin with warm luminous undertone and natural sheen where the neon catches the cheekbone. THE SETTING: A tunnel of concentric geometric wireframe neon tubes receding to a vanishing point behind her, mostly electric cyan and cobalt with hot magenta segments; a glossy black reflective floor mirroring the neon lines; light haze in the air. THE LIGHT: All light from the practical neon tubes only. Strong cyan backlight rim-lights her silhouette and the braids; magenta edge light on the sleeves; the anorak's raised pattern catches glancing highlights. Deep crushed blacks. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Neon reflections streaking across the wet-look floor; the jacket's circuit texture visible in the rim light; the red sleeve patch a small warm accent. THE MOOD: Punchy-saturated cyan-magenta grade, cyberpunk streetwear editorial, kinetic and cool. THE COMPOSITION: Full body, subject centred in the tunnel's vanishing point, symmetrical neon rings framing her, generous headroom, slightly low eye-level. THE CAMERA: Cinematic editorial, 35mm-equivalent wide-normal lens, moderate depth of field with the far tunnel softly out of focus, Villeneuve-style graphic symmetry. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine full-frame film grain, subtle halation bloom around the neon tubes.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in a neon-lit city alley at night from the start โ not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across subject and environment. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: Leaving the frame โ a figure striding out of the neon toward us, hood up, unstoppable. The closing beat of the campaign, motion and momentum. IDENTITY LOCK: The garment is the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. THE SUBJECT: A lean young Latino man walking straight toward camera mid-stride, left foot forward, hands in the front of the anorak's chest area, hood up and cinched, face in deep shadow inside the hood except a thin magenta rim along the jaw. He wears the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon, all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown half-zip, horizontal zip chest pocket, small red circular patch on the left sleeve, drawcord hem with black toggles swinging. Black wide cargo pants, chunky grey sneakers. THE FACE: Natural skin texture on the visible jaw, no plastic skin. THE SETTING: A narrow wet alley with layered neon signs in cyan and magenta on both walls showing abstract glyphs with no readable words, steam from a vent, puddles, air-conditioning units and cables overhead, a blur of city light at the far end. Lived in, grimy, not clean. THE LIGHT: Practical only โ strong cyan and magenta neon backlight from the alley behind him creating a glowing silhouette edge, soft cyan spill from the side signs across the jacket's raised pattern; reflections in the puddles match. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Water splashing slightly at his heel; steam catching backlight; rain droplets on the nylon. THE MOOD: Cyan-magenta grade, kinetic and confident, cyberpunk night. THE COMPOSITION: Full body, subject centred on the alley's vanishing point, leading lines of the walls and signs converging behind him, eye-level, headroom kept. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, 50mm-equivalent lens, shallow depth of field with the alley softly bokeh'd behind. THE AFTER EFFECT: Slight motion blur on the swinging hem, toggles and trailing foot, torso and hood sharp; fine film grain.
6. Add one quiet shot
The moodboard had one calm frame in it, a blurry profile on flat grey with a glowing visor. So I made one too: a pale grey wall, an off-white visor with an amber light, and motion ghosting trailing behind the head. I wanted something to give your eyes a break between all the neon.

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken in a minimal grey studio from the start. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: The quiet register โ a ghostly profile, half here and half signal. Minimal, gallery-like, muted, the one breath of calm in a loud campaign. IDENTITY LOCK: The garment is the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. THE SUBJECT: A person seen in side profile facing frame-right, wearing the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon with the all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown half-zip, horizontal zip chest pocket, small red circular patch on the sleeve. Hood down. Over the eyes a sleek matte off-white wraparound visor with a glowing amber-orange LED line running across it in a stepped shape. Close-cropped dark hair. Still, head slightly lowered. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic skin, amber visor glow bleeding softly onto the cheek and nose. THE SETTING: A seamless flat pale grey-green backdrop, empty, soft and even. THE LIGHT: Soft diffuse overcast light from frame-left, low contrast; the amber visor LED is the only saturated light, glowing and bleeding warm onto the skin. THE KEY DETAILS: The jacket's raised pattern subtly visible in soft light; the amber glow the single colour accent. THE MOOD: Muted-desaturated grade, pale grey with one amber accent, contemplative and uncanny. THE COMPOSITION: Head-and-shoulders to chest, subject slightly left of centre, generous negative space ahead of the profile, headroom kept. THE CAMERA: Cinematic editorial, 85mm-equivalent lens, shallow depth of field. THE AFTER EFFECT: Long-exposure motion ghosting โ the head and hair smeared into soft translucent echoes trailing behind the profile, the visor and shoulders still mostly sharp; fine grain.
7. What came out off
And listen, not everything landed. The full-body shots in front of neon came out lit like a catalogue photo, bright and even on the front, like the person is standing in a studio with a neon wall behind them. You can see it best in this one:

Exact prompt
Create a new photorealistic image. This is a photograph taken on a mirror-floored neon stage from the start โ not a composite. Rebuild the entire scene as if shot natively here, with unified lighting across both subjects and environment. Preserve the jacket exactly, from the first reference. THE VIBE: Two anonymous figures sharing one uniform โ a crew, not a pose. Cool, unbothered, retro-futurist streetwear, reflections doubling the energy. IDENTITY LOCK: Both wear the oversized half-zip pullover anorak from the first reference โ preserve its cut, colour and pattern exactly. THE CHARACTERS: The first is a tall Black man sitting on a low black metal bench, leaning forward, elbows on knees, hood up, his face hidden behind a boxy matte-black helmet visor whose front is a small screen glowing with soft white horizontal lines. The second is a young East Asian woman with a sleek black bob, standing beside the bench with her weight on one hip and one hand resting on his shoulder, looking off to frame-left, hood down. Both wear the anorak from the first reference: dusty mauve-brown nylon, all-over tonal raised circuit-maze pattern in lighter mauve and faded charcoal, brown half-zip, horizontal zip chest pocket, small red circular patch on the left sleeve, drawcord hem with black toggles. He wears baggy white track pants and chunky white high-tops; she wears black cargo pants and black platform boots. THE FACE: Natural skin texture, no airbrushing, no plastic skin; her light warm-neutral skin with natural pores; his visible neck deep skin with warm undertone. THE SETTING: A glossy black mirror floor reflecting everything, behind them tall vertical strips of hot pink, magenta and cyan neon forming a wall of light, faint haze. THE LIGHT: Practical neon only โ magenta and cyan from behind rim-lighting both silhouettes, a soft pink spill on the fronts of the jackets revealing the raised pattern; specular highlights on the floor match those on the nylon. NO studio lighting. THE KEY DETAILS: Both figures reflected crisply in the floor; the visor screen glow; red sleeve patches as warm accents. THE MOOD: Punchy-saturated pink-magenta-cyan grade, cool crew energy. THE COMPOSITION: Both occupy the frame together in one unified scene, full body, slightly low angle, reflections filling the bottom third. THE CAMERA: Cinematic, 35mm-equivalent lens, moderate depth of field, graphic symmetry. THE AFTER EFFECT: Fine film grain, soft halation on the neon.
The alley shot is the one where the color actually hits the jacket. Hood up, face in shadow, light coming from behind. I haven't tested a fix for the others yet, so I'm not gonna pretend I know exactly why.
Also, real TV brand names showed up on the monitors in the CRT room. I never asked for that, so keep an eye on any props with screens or labels on them.
Why it works
Most of my decisions here came straight from the moodboard. The colors, where the light comes from, the hidden faces and the three kinds of places were all sitting in those eight images. Having Claude say them back to me first meant every prompt started from the same read of the board.
Your turn: pick five to eight images you love and ask Claude to describe them back to you before you make a single thing.
Emero turns a read like that into prompts for every shot and keeps your product on file for your next campaign, all at cost.
